A road-tripper's guide to Second Life!

Route 11 is a lot shorter than most of the other numbered road routes, and is more like the length of a side road on Heterocera or Satori. It also requires a boat, or preferably an amphibious vehicle, because there are two submerged sections. Both ends of Route 11 are located on the coast or a coastal channel, which was very convenient for me, because I sailed on to Nautilus and Route 12 when I was done exploring Corsica.

Keep in mind that there are very few rez zones on Route 11, so be careful not to lose your vehice.

An Explorer's Information Center is close to this starting point; these centers are located on several continents, and are full of useful maps.

Route 11 Drive Guide

This guide starts at a Pier with a boat ramp on one end of Route 11. You can rez a boat here to sail out into the Mole Channel, or rez a vehicle and drive Route 11.

Soon after the Information Center, the road starts a long uphill climb, and can be steep at times.

Not much up here other than a lot of bare rock, and a few trees and shrubs along the roadway. There is land for sale here.

Turn left to head east on Magellan Pass, or continue south to stay on Route 11.

• Route 11 comes to the coast and continues over the water on a bridge (west end of the bridge)
• Drawbridge in the middle of the bridge
There is a sign here on the side of the bridge; clicking it raises and lowers the drawbridge. I assume this is here for boat traffic to get through.

• Entrance to Bogatanta Bay Town Center (on right)
Bogatanta Bay is a residential and shopping district, complete with roads, a Rox Oil gas station and a harbor with boat slips. The town is worth a quick peek.

Turn left to head west on Magellan Pass, or continue north to stay on Route 11.

This is the First rez zone I've seen on Route 11, except for the starting point. The area becomes much more open and less built up beyond the rez zone. The higher elevations seem to be less popular.

If you're not already driving an amphibious vehicle, you might want to rez one here. There is no rez zone at the upcoming submerged section. You could also just fly the remaining length of Route 11 as there isn't much more of it after the submerged area.

END of Pavement! From here, Route 11 continues a short distance underwater, but there is no bridge, and no rez zone. I rezzed my Amphicar at the previous rez zone so I could travel this short section of water, and drive up onto the roadway again. Once in the water, turn left and follow the channel, you will soon see a narrow dock and then the pavement again on your left.

Route 11 continues underwater for a much longer span than the previous submerged section. Continue on through the channel, keeping to the left of the island and sticking close to the mainland shore to stay on the route. Route 11 ends abruptly in the water and without any warning. Eventually you get to an area of protected land, and soon after that to private parcels. Watch out here, because there are some stinky neighbors that eject you in just 10 seconds, even if you're in the water and not on their dry land property. Honestly, there is no good reason to sail this last part of Route 11, unless you just want to.

Magellan Pass

Magellan Pass is the only side road connected to Route 11, and as the name suggests, it cuts across the inland to meet up again with the other side of the main route. This guide starts in the west with a mild uphill climb as you head east towards the other side of Route 11. It's a very short road.
